I know this ‘cause about ten years ago, I was just like you.
A young writer in India, scribbling my first novel in the middle of a BTech degree… wondering why there weren’t more real, accessible writing resources widely available.
That drive to learn storytelling took me all the way to the United States…
…where I spent almost 3 years gaining my MFA in Creative Writing from University of San Francisco.
And when I returned in 2024, I knew I wanted to build something that genuinely helps writers tell better stories and make their author dreams come true.
That’s why I founded Kathansh.
To make the craft of fiction feel accessible AND empowering for writers everywhere, not just the lucky few with the right connections or the right degree.
Now, I’ve been in the writing industry for 5+ years — winning contests, working at a publishing house, then striking out on my own as an independent editor and of course, starting Kathansh. I’ve helped 80+ writers turn their messiest ideas into manuscripts they’re genuinely proud of.
Everything I do here is backed by one belief: storytelling is sacred.

Meaning of Kathansh
Kathansh is my brainchild, born from the fusion of two beautiful Sanskrit words: "Katha," meaning story, and "Ansh," symbolizing the smallest, most essential part of anything. Hence, the tagline atom of story.
